• Single Domain – The most basic level functionality for an SSL certificate and secures a single hostname.
• Multi-Domain – Allows you to secure multiple domains without using multiple SSL certificates. A Multi-Domain SSL certificate can encrypt up to 250 domains or host names on a single certificate.
• Wildcard – A Wildcard SSL certificate will encrypt a single hostname and all accompanying subdomains at the indicated URL level.
• Multi-Domain Wildcard – This jack-of-all-trades SSL certificate can encrypt up to 250 domains and an unlimited number of accompanying subdomains.
• Unified Communications Certificates – UCCs are SSL certificates that encrypt up to 250 domains and were created specifically for Microsoft Exchange and Office communications servers.

SSL/TLS used to be optional – something only e-commerce companies and websites that collect personal data needed – but all that changed in 2018 when Google began marking websites without an SSL certificate as “Not Secure.”
